Natural light and family photography is one of my favorite things to shoot. It’s so easy to forget how important family photos are, especially in this digital age with everyone always having a camera phone with them. The natural and informal photos that capture the cuddles, the laughs, the silliness, the games, and even the sulky faces are something only a professional photographer can capture. It allows everyone to be together and not have to worry about who is taking the pictures, capturing those little moments. Family photography only gets more precious as time goes on, and is a forever present to someone or to yourselves as a family.
The best photos are ones that are relaxed and candid and capture you and your family interacting in a very real way. The tickling laughs, the biggest hugs, and the silly faces. Your unique family is captured in a beautiful, natural, and fun way. You could start your family photos with a maternity shoot and capture that time before you meet the new little one in your life and onward.
My style of photography makes the most of your time, the natural light, and the great outdoors. The shoot is very easy going with your children being the ones who drive the session. To ensure it’s a relaxed and fun experience the sessions are mainly undirected, but I will guide where needed. My aim is to make you feel at ease from the start and simply enjoy spending time with your family while I capture photos of you.
Family photoshoots typically last 2 hours. This gives us time for a chat, and then plenty of time for relaxed photos of you and your family. Don’t worry if things overrun a bit due to the kiddo’s needs. I understand that flexibility is needed with little ones! After the session, if you have chosen one of the digital packages, there’s no need to choose which photos to keep and which ones you have to let go of. All the final photos are included in the price, ready for you to print and share. If you have the Shoot & Print package you still get all images on the online gallery and can purchase the full collection after the shoot if you would like to.

SHOOTS & PRINTS:
People + Family Portraits
- Up to 2-hour shoot, on location or at your home, within the Wilmington area or 20 miles from downtown (I am happy to travel further for a small additional travel fee)
- Your images fully edited
- A private online viewing gallery (hosted for 6 months)
- 5 x 5×7 prints of your choice (you will also get the digital files for the images you choose as prints)
- The option to purchase more prints or digital files as you wish at an additional cost
- PACKAGE PRICE – $500

I also offer some different options for my family sessions. Throughout the year I offer mini sessions which are about 20-30mins long, are more affordable, and are in a setting of either your backyard, a place you like, or a setting that I choose. The sessions tend to be my most popular.
Pets + Their People
These portraits are one of my ultimate favorites! These are longer sessions (about 2 hours) where I ask my clients to show up with their furry family members and let me photograph everyone together, and then your beloved pet alone. There is time before the shoot via a phone conversation to get to know you and your pet, as well as anything I might need to know prior to the shoot.
I like to treat these shoots the same way I would with my other portrait sessions, where I give a little direction – but mostly try to keep things organic. I ask my clients to pretend as if I am not there for a while, and then we also do some posed shots.
FYI – Bring treats for your furry friend and a leash. These photoshoots can happen any time of the day, but I do like to take advantage of morning or evening light if possible. Prior to the shoot I will request a recent rabies vaccination.
