– The big question, why should we hire you as our wedding photographer? What wedding experience do you have?
You should hire me because I care greatly about your magical day; because I will take care of you, your day is very important. I will do what I can to help it run more smoothly so that those beautiful moments can be as plentiful as possible for me to capture. Because you deserve to have your wedding captured beautifully and with ease. I am a laid-back individual who has ten years of wedding experience (and whose old roommate is a wedding planner!) I have heard the stories, I know the flow and energy of a wedding, and most importantly I know how to make you and your partner feel comfortable.
I don’t list my detailed rates because rates and collections can vary by location. Some weddings outside NC and surrounding areas require travel fees, which are not included in my local wedding rate. Destination weddings are different as well. Please refer to my wedding packages page. I am always available to discuss more details in regard to my rates. It is really dependent on each individual wedding-non are the same and there can be many moving parts, so I don’t like to generalize when it comes to advertising rates. Know that my rates are very fair and only change drastically if there are a lot of traveling fees involved.
Most of the time, yes. It depends on how large your wedding is. If you have a smaller wedding then I will most likely not have a second shooter. My second shooter is often my husband who is an incredibly talented photographer as well! He is my go-to right-hand man and provides organizing of people help, battery charging, and helping with style or he provides random jokes to coax those extra smiles. He is a really great guy, you will love him!
Yes, I do! Every image that you receive has been hand-edited, one at a time, without batching in bulk groups or mass-producing the results. My love of photography is also accompanied by my love of editing, it feels like Christmas to me!
I travel all over the world! I am a destination wedding specialist ( I love traveling the world with my husband), but also, I LOVE photographing weddings locally in my southern home of North Carolina. I will travel all up and down the coast of NC, SC, Georgia, and inland as well. If you’re a destination wedding, travel is billed very simply. I as that airfare, a hotel, and a rental car be covered prior to your wedding day. ( If those things are needed) I can also drive to you if you are in the surrounding states, but I will ask that you pay mileage outside of 30 miles away from Wilmington. Please see my Wedding packages page.
Absolutely! In fact, I prefer to give you options of both on certain selected photos. Don’t want black and White? No problem, I can leave them out and this is something I will bring up in our consultation meeting.
The number of photographs taken depends on many things- the number of guests, hours of coverage, types of events, hours of dancing, and so on. My average for an eight-hour day with a second shooter is 650 images, but those numbers vary depending on the day itself.
The raw, unedited files are not available for viewing or purchase. This is very much like asking a graphic designer or any artist for that matter to give you all of the files leading up to the final product. Please don’t ever ask a photographer for RAW files. The images selected for editing and final delivery reflect a highly trained eye. I am too excited about the images that I take on your big day! Because of that, every viable image is edited with lots of loving care and given to you.
Rehearsal dinner coverage is available if you would like to add it to your wedding package. Unless you want pictures of your dinner to add to your wedding collection, I don’t feel the need to come to your rehearsal dinner for planning purposes. We talk about the timing of your day in our consultation meetings, and I arrive at the wedding venue early to get a feel for the lay of the land. We will go over a shot list and prior to the wedding and all should be well for your big day. Of course, things may slightly change on your actual day, and I am here to tell you that that is okay. I am a very flexible person and give it my all no matter what the timing.
The online gallery is the first way I deliver your wedding collection to you. It is an online gallery that is private and comes with your own password and download PIN. It is an easy way to have a protected gallery of your images where you and your family can see your big day. Only you receive a download PIN. It is also in a gallery that links you to where you can purchase prints of your big day!
YES! I love engagement sessions! I offer engagements as part of a wedding package, or as individual photoshoot sessions. Please see my engagement section in my portfolio. Sessions are often photographed on Wrightsville beach, or any surrounding beach of your choosing. I will also come to meet you in a place of your choosing if it isn’t a far drive from Wilmington. I like to do engagement sessions in the evening hours, around 6-8 pm in the summer months and 3-4:30 in the winter months.
A booking fee/deposit of half the cost of your package is due to reserve your date. You could have up to two more payments after that depending on your package. Your final balance is due two weeks prior to your wedding date. We will go over this during a consultation meeting, and I am open to discussing a three-tier payment option for larger packages, making your deposit less. Please refer to my wedding packages page for more details.
I have never missed a wedding or a photoshoot for any reason. Please know that I take the responsibility of shooting your wedding or your photo session very seriously, and wouldn’t just back out without a very serious reason behind it. If this is something that really concerns you please do not hesitate to speak to me about it. Weddings are especially a situation that needs a lot of planning and backup plans. Know that the thought process is there for assurance purposes only!
Yes. Absolutely. 100%
I use high-end Sony Cameras and lenses. I usually bring some reflectors and some very big attachable flashes.
Yes. I do ask that you let me know at least two months in advance of the wedding as it does take time for the insurance company to process and provide that document. I am happy to discuss this further with you in our consultation meeting.
I can’t hold a date or pencil you in. I can’t without a retainer and a signed contract. This is pretty standard for the wedding photography industry and is something I also do when looking for a family photoshoot, portrait session, and realty photoshoots. This is a business where I need to be able to have assurances and planning is crucial. I accept bookings on a first-come/first-serve basis. Again, this applies to all of my photoshoots.
The deposit is non-refundable. The deposit is a guarantee that I’ll hold the date for you and once you’ve signed the contract I turn down all other commissions for that date and time.
